EARLIER this month I had the opportunity to capture the behind the scenes of Scott Newnham's music video for his debut single 'Really Me' filmed throughout the Gold Coast and Brisbane, Queensland.
Over two days and several locations the video came together while being shot on a Canon EOS 5dMkII DSLR video rig.

Kokoda Challenge 2010 photos online.

I AM pleased to say that all the Kokoda Challenge 2010 photos are now online and live in the gallery for viewing.
UPDATE: The search function has now been fixed. You can now search for your team number and place orders, If you can't find any images of your team try searching 'no number' as this will bring up any images that have teams that could not be identified in them. Kokoda Challenge 2010 steps off.

MORE than 400 teams stepped off from Nerang, Queensland this morning to take part in the 2010 Kokoda Challenge which delivered a challenging 96km course throughout the Gold Coast Hinterland to be completed within 39 hours.
Competitors took on the course which simulates the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea as part of their commitment to raise funds for the Kokoda Challenge Youth Program.

A 28mb blog? How long is too long.

WHEN I open a photographer's blog and as it begins to load the scroll bar appears, then gradually reduces in size hinting to a very long website page filled with images within 10 seconds I want to close it.
Friend and web developer John Croucher says that he aims to build pages that load within five seconds.
It's a common case of poor web awareness. Googling 'photographer blog' has just given me two random blogs which I opened only to be presented by a 24.274mb and 28.094mb download to view them. Go on, try it.
On a fast ADSL2+ connection it may of only taken me 1.4min and 1.6min to load these pages fully, but why must I wait? Research has found that website visitors will wait 4-8 seconds depending their connection for your page to load.
Your site won't load top to bottom, so while it loads the viewer may not even see anything but a shell and some text while all the images load, taking away from their already short patience while they look at moving on to the next page, your competitor.
"How can I improve my blog?" I hear you ask. There are several easy approaches to keep ahold of the situation....
